Uninterrupted
Power Supplies (
UPS )
Your
communications is very important to your business. In today's
age the majority of exchange lines are digital, so if power
disrupts your business your telephone and exchange lines could
both be effected and fail. Today's telephone systems are very
reliable, one of the most common cause for telephone system
failure is power disruption. This can be avoided by the installation
of a back up battery system.
The most common UPS systems range from 1 to 7 hours in duration,
and will continue to provide full communications (subject
to digital line connection) in the event of a power failure.
With the supply of a bypass switch connected to the UPS normal
maintenance checks can be performed without power being lost
to the telephone exchange.
Chester Communications can supply and install a UPS system
with bypass switch to meet your specific requirements.
Maintenance.
How old is your UPS system?
When was the last time a maintenance check was carried out?
Do you know how long your batteries will last (if at all)
in the event of a power failure?
Your UPS system will require
maintenance checks at a minimum of once every 12 months. Batteries
will deteriorate, with a life expectancy on approx. 4 - 5
years from installation. The ambient room temperature if too
warm can also reduce the life of your batteries. Chester Communications
can organise a safety check and report on your current UPS
system, subject to manufacturer, and site survey, for a complete
piece of mind.
Do not let the first time you find out your
UPS is faulty is when there is a power failure, check it out
now for your confidence to know it will work when you need
it to.
Contact Chester Communications
to arrange a site visit and maintenance check of your system
(subject to manufacturer).
